This book is in excellent condition, much better than I expected - honestly like a new book - complete with a jacket! It was an excellent deal with fast delivery! I'm thrilled about this purchase - I guess just because I'm always nervous about getting ripped off...

Summary: "So, you want to be a physicist? It's time to prove it."

People who are familiar with this book tend to develop strong feelings about it. Theoretical physics is not a particularly easy or transparent area of study and the electrodynamics part of it is no exception. Most of the concepts are not obvious and the mathematics involved to solve the equations is not trivial. All that you need is in this book, but be very clear about the fact that you are going to have to expend serious effort to extract the true meaning from these pages. There are four fundamental forces. This is the best book available about the force we know the most about. The material so thoroughly covered in this textbook is the foundation of physics you will build your adult life upon. As with every textbook, this one does not cover all topics or all viewpoints; supplementary material will help. However, J. D. Jackson understands what it is to be a physicist and the tools and techniques needed to be an effective one. This book is full of hard problems some of which people praise and some of which others bemoan. You will love this book; you will hate this book. Each problem teaches you something about the physical world, something about the mathematical tools we use to describe it and something about yourself. If you want to go on to help uncover how everything works, how gravity and quantum mechanics combine, how the particles, fields and dimensions of all that there is cooperate in harmony, you need to understand what is in this book first. This is your first real introduction to a gauge theory which you must master to help you reveal the physics that we do not yet understand. Jackson provides you one of the best tools you need to get the job done.

Summary: "It is fake!!!"

Be careful!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
It is a lie!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

It is not what it says a hard cover copy. The soft cover version is to be sold only in mainland China, not outside of China. In addition, it worth only 10 us dollars but they sell it for american price.
After sending it back, we never receive the refund as they agreed.
We are not the only ones fooled by this carrier, many of my classmates (at least 10 guys) also purchased from different sellers from amazon and never got their money back after returning the books.

Don't waste your money!

Summary: "Live with it as there is no better alternative"

I can not say that I like this book. It is hard to read. It seems that the professor left some details on purpose. Many graduate level text books do that though. So, you will have to live with it. Besides, I have not found a better alternative. Other graduate level books on EM are even worse than this one. So, this book becomes my primary reference not because I like it. I hope a university professor would see the need for a new text book on graduate level EM.
